39 Ways to Meet Guys That Don’t Involve Dating Apps
Just wanted to know if anyone had a similar experience to what I had this weekend. Short story or trying to make it short. I met a guy online a month ago, while he was in UK for work he is originally from Denmark. We were supposed to go for a drink one night, but then he had to fly home a day earlier, so this has never happened.
He texted me a week after, asking how am I and we continued chatting for weeks. So random and strange, but it felt like I knew this person for years. So, he ended up booking his tickets and came to meet see me in London this weekend.
I met him on Sat morning, where I had all organized for the weekend brunch, dinner, evening drinks… All felt so much more natural then I expected it to be. Again, I have never felt this way before.
And we spend all weekend together. He just left back to Denmark this morning. We kinda discussed about him coming over here during Easter as well. I would not normally ask this, especially on the first date, but to me this was a little more. He told me several time he would like to find a job in London and move here. I asked him to text me, when he is back, so that I know he has safely landed. Which in in few hours from now.
I am feeling so weird, not sure if this was just a fun game for him to come over here and spend a weekend, or if he felt same about me I felt about him…? Not on the first night though. But on the second. Before he came here, I made it clear, that I am not for a sex on the very early stages. I usually dont even feel like having it until I know the person a little better. This was on the reason I did not invite him to stay at mine as well. Eventually we had sex on the second night after spending 26 hour together.
I know it is not ideal, and I would have not done it in any other situation if this was just a date. Whoa slow down. Women do this all the time and it is repellent energy to men. You met one time.
If he liked you, he will let you know. You will be happier and have more fun if you stop getting so serious so quickly. Let him lead now. Go on about your life and keep dating. Dating is supposed to be fun! That means he was trolling for sex while there. Now he is back home. Probably with a gf or wife. You have no idea if he ever intends to move to uk. You should totally chill. Take a few days to clear your head before you decide checking on him.
Vet rationally him before you get further invested emotionally. This is why I am writing here on this forum. To chill myself. Well, I dont know what was his intentions for meeting me, but we were supposed to meet before he was going to the airport that time he was here. Not sure, where would have sex happened in that case? In the bar…? Dont think so. Yes, I did show interest, because he was an interesting guy to chat to. Who know what is waiting for him back home in Denmark, and not being naive here, dont think it is a wife at least….
It was just a dating app. When we were chatting on that, he said he understand if I think that this is waste of time to meet him since he does not love in the country ect. I do travel for work quiete a bit myself and sometime with no intention, I go online and chat to some guys there.
I have not met anyone yet like this, but would be up for going for a drink some evening instead of staying in the hotel. I would not be surprised he had the same thoughts when he was in UK. When he left, I was not expecting to hear from him at all.
He rented a hotel room and entertained you there. If you had fun, great! But obviously now you are expecting more out of this.. Which is on you, because if you waned a man to truly date and have a relationship with you would have made him properly date you not text you….
Men want what they have to earn and work for… You just handed him a weekend of fun without anymore effort than a chat online and via text…. I am 29 and he is WE both have had a LDR before too. We are both professionals- banking and media. In terms of dating.. WE had brunch, walk, drinks dinner together. Yesterday we also went for long walk near my university and river, and dinner after.
So no, we did not stay in the hotel and entertained each other. Well, then see what happens. None of us are mind readers.. Time and his actions will tell what this ends up being. Sounds like you two are head over heels in love. Thanks Alice. As I said, I have never done anything like this before. I also thought its too much and I know I am sensitive with those situations, so can easily fall for person way too early.
Met a Frenchman many years ago when be visited my country for Patricks Day. He came back two weeks later and we dated for a year. I hope it works out. He thanked me for being very welcoming this weekend. And asked how was is it going for me at work today.. I guess I just need to stay calm now. Not try to initiate anything and see where it goes. Here is a hardest part.. I would caution you to not try and figure out his motives before he has had a chance to show his true colors.
I am noticing this on a lot of these topics on this forum. While sex on a first date is not and ideal way to start a relationship, it does happen. Plus after 26 hours, that is more like several dates so I would not get hung up on that.
I would suggest you do what you can to take care of you and get yourself centered and grounded again. Enjoy the memories of the date, enjoy feeling the excitement of the potential of starting something new and focus back on your life. Just be as balanced as you can be. Let him take the lead and see what happens. Trust yourself and take some of the advise on this forum with a grain of salt.
I am just a little lost today.. A little anxious, and I guess just being a woman. All the weekend went like one nice dream, full of the activities and great time. Now, I will like I have no control in anything.. He went back and I am here.
As I have not experienced this before. One thing that might help you is to realize that your body including parts of your brain has biologically bonded with this guy. Mother nature is gearing up that the woman get attached to the man in case a baby is produced.
So in general when a woman has sex with a man before a relationship is established she is bonded to a guy where she does not know where she stands. That makes for a bit of discomfort and insecurity.
